Venice The Ultimate Budget Guide

Through The Lens of Capturing the Stone & Liquid Roads

It’s no wonder why Venice remains on every traveler’s must-visit list. Something truly magical happened the moment I arrived in Venice.

I felt instantly transported to into a timeless Venetian era.

From the intricate gold carvings of a moored gondola to the sun-faded stucco of centuries-old homes, I am chronicling the contrast that makes this city a living masterpiece.

Canals are the main mode of transport in Venice. You won’t find any cars in the center of Venice and the only way to get around is on foot or on a boat.

Caught between its ancient stone and liquid roads, Venice is beautiful mix of history. Its architecture is a unique blend of Byzantine, Gothic and Renaissance style.

The Grand Canal

The Grand Canal is the city’s primary artery serving as  main mode of transport, bustling with variety of vessels, from public water buses (vaporetti) to private gondolas.  The edges of the canal are lined with restaurants and terraces

But behind this mind-blowing atmosphere, there is always a price to pay. Planning a travel budget for a place like this is no easy task; we all want to enjoy the luxury of Venice without it burning a hole in our pockets. My honest answer? Venice is an expensive city—but it doesn’t have to be out of reach.

1.The Free Walking Tour Hack”

One of the best ways to get oriented without spending a fortune is by joining a free walking tour. Companies like SANDEMANs partner with local guides who are passionate about the city. You get to explore the artistic soul of the Dorsoduro district or discover ‘Hidden Venice’ with an expert who can point out the spots where locals actually eat—all you pay is a tip based on what you feel the tour was worth. It’s the ultimate way to learn the city’s secrets while keeping your wallet happy.

my name is Shilpa. I created this space for likeminded travelers who, feel a restless urge to see the world—a feeling known as Wanderlust. Whether I am standing under the Venetian sky, breathing in the view of Emerald waters dotted with gondolas, or drifting along the quiet ‘liquid roads’
