The Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace located at Central London. The King’s official London residence and a working royal palace. Best time to visit is during summer because then you’ll get to see the garden blooming. The Buckingham Palace tour opens every summer July-September. Tickets must be booked in advance via online portals.
Where is Buckingham Palace and how do I get there?
- Tube – The closest Tube stations are Victoria (Circle and District and Victoria lines), Green Park (Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria lines) and Hyde Park Corner (Piccadilly line).
- Bus – Several buses, including numbers 11, 211 and C10, stop nearby.
- Coach – If you are arriving by coach, Victoria Coach Station is a 10-minute walk away.

I booked a free walking tour that covers several places (which I will share in details later). While that is free, the Buckingham Palace tour is paid tour. This royal attraction includes
- Visiting the 19 beautifully decorated Buckingham Palace State Rooms, used for receiving guests and official functions.
- Seeing the Throne Room – often used as a backdrop for royal wedding photos.
- Admiring the magnificent Grand Staircase.
- Spotting incredible pieces of fine art, including works by Rembrandt, Rubens and Van Dyck.
- Strolling along the south side of the garden, featuring views of the famous lake and the palace from a different angle.
Buckingham Palace Tour ticket price (may subject to change)
- Child Ticket (5-17 years) – £16.00 per ticket
- Adult ticket – £20.50 – £32.00 per ticket
Changing Of Guards
One of the most vibrant parts of the day that I didn’t want to miss is the Changing of Guards. These traditions have remained largely unchanged for centuries. Seeing the Household Cavalry in their silver breastplates and their iconic red tunics and bearskin hats is a fantastic experience.

History and culture behind this Royal practice –

Travel Tip: The mounted sentries at Horse Guards change every hour from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. If you miss the big morning ceremony, you can still catch these smaller hourly changes for some great close-up shots!
